The Ste. Agathe Historical Society was incorporated on March 23, 1978, thanks to a number of dedicated citizens who understood the value of illustrating the past so that we may better understand and appreciate the present.
We believe the understanding of the history of our community is a basic to our democratic way of life and gives us a better understanding of our state and nation. The corporation's major function is to discover and collect any material which may help to illustrate the history and culture of our community.
The society owns and cares for a small museum known as Ste. Agathe Historical House, located on Route 162 in St. Agatha, Maine. The museum, an original site home constructed in the mid 1800's, contains artifacts that depict the life of the common people who lived the history of our community.
Most artifacts date from the late 1800's to the early to mid 1900's. The house is open to visitors from June 15 to Labor Day from 1pm to 4pm. The house is closed on Mondays.
Anyone wishing to become a lifetime member of the Ste. Agatha Historical Society should send $40.00 to:
